Alpine School District Graduation: May 20 and 21 | Marriott Center, Provo, Utah

Entry and Seating

  • Doors open one hour before the first event of the day and will remain open until the last event has ended.
  • Saving seats is not permitted.

Post-Event Gathering Areas

The marked areas have been approved for gathering with graduates after the event. Please do not congregate in any other areas. Do not stake any signs, banners, tents, or canopies into the ground.

HS Graduation gathering areas

  • Arrive early and be prepared to walk.
  • Ample parking is available at the lots southeast, east, and west of LaVell Edwards Stadium. Parking in lots adjacent to the Marriott Center is extremely limited. Expect significant wait times when trying to access these lots.
  • Disability Parking will be available in lot 19. Disability drop-off will be in front of the Marriott Center – expect 30 minutes of wait time.
  • Access to available parking lots is best achieved by using University Parkway. Using Cougar Boulevard (1230 North) to access BYU campus is highly discouraged. Expect wait times up to one hour if using this route.
  • Do not drop off your graduate in front of the Marriott Center.
  • Do not park in service stalls or fire lanes. Park only in designated stalls. Do not park in specialty stalls.
  • Do not park in the neighborhoods surrounding BYU or at the church building on 900 East.

No Bags

  • The Marriott Center has a NO bag policy. Small clutch bags no larger than 5” x 8” x 1”, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the venue.
  • Medically necessary items (including diaper bags) will be permitted after inspection. One bag per person.

Prohibited Items

  • Please do not use loud noisemakers (air horns, cowbells, etc.) as they disrupt the ceremony and make it difficult to hear graduates' names.
  • Balloons
  • Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted. Service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act are welcome.
  • Signs or banners larger than 24”x36”
  • Other large items
  • All persons and permissible bags are subject to search. BYU reserves the right to remove any item that is prohibited and to prohibit any item at venue management’s discretion.
  • The following items are permitted after inspection:
    • Medical Supplies
    • Blankets
    • Baby supplies

Weapons Detection

  • BYU is employing the use of a weapons detection system. Please arrive early to facilitate faster entry into the venue.
  • No weapons of any kind are allowed at the Marriott Center. See a full list of prohibited items above.

Accessibility and Special Accommodations

  • Seating
    • Disability seating is accessible via the concourse level most portals.
    • Elevator access is available on the north side of the Marriott Center in the ticket lobby.
  • Wheelchair Loans
    • A limited number of wheelchairs are available to borrow at the Guest Services booth between portals A and Y on the northeast side of the Marriott Center. Please bring a driver's license to leave as collateral. Wheelchairs are not allowed outside of the Marriott Center.
